Puri: With incidents of drowning continuing unabated at Puri beach, another Engineering student went missing while taking bath in the sea on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sai Krishna Kumar, a resident of the neighbouring Jharkhand district and student of an Engineering College located in Bokaro.
Kumar, who had visited Puri along with a group of friends went to take bath in the sea this morning, following which the mishap took place.
As per the friends of the victim and eyewitnesses of the incident, entered into deep water unknowingly while taking bath and was swept away into the sea by the strong current prevailing there.
The lifeguards present at the beach swung into action after hearing our screaming but failed to rescue Kumar, they said.
While the Marine Police has reached the beach to assist the lifeguards, the victim couldn’t have been traced so far.
