Eminent Writer Manoj Das Honoured In Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Award-winning writer and Padmashree awardee Prof. Manoj Das was felicitated in UAE’s Abu Dhabi on Friday, where he was attending an international book fair organised by the Odia Samaj Abu Dhabi (OSA).

The members of OSA had organised “An evening with Prof Manoj Das” at Arab Udupi Hall in Abu Dhabi.

During a question-answer session at the event, Das spoke on his life journey, his career, work and interacted with his literature lovers at the event.

A prominent author, Das writes in Odia and English. In 2000, he was awarded the Saraswati Samman and later bestowed with the Padma Shri in 2001, the fourth highest Civilian Award in India for his contribution in the field of Literature & Education.

Kendra Sahitya Akademi has bestowed Das with its highest award (also India’s highest literary award) i.e Sahitya Akademi Award Fellowship.

Currently, Manoj Das teaches English Literature and the Philosophy of Sri Aurobindo at the Sri Aurobindo International University in Puducherry.
