Eligible citizens can now receive Covishield Precaution Dose in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The eligible citizens staying in Bhubaneswar, who have taken both doses of covishield covid vaccine elsewhere, can now take the Precaution Dose in Bhubaneswar, informed Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the eligible citizens can take the Covishield precaution doses at these two centres under:

  • Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Unit 9
  • Chandrasekharpur UPHC

The Precaution Doses are now available for Health Care, Frontline Workers, and Senior Citizens from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm, added the health department.

The slots can be booked at the Cowin portal or the eligible beneficiaries can walk in directly to the centre to receive the dose.

Notably, the beneficiaries who have taken two doses of Covishield before 9 months are eligible for the Precaution dose. They are required to carry the fully-vaccinated certificate to the centre.

The administering of booster or the precautionary dose of Covid-19 vaccine to health and frontline workers, and people aged 60 and above with co-morbidities began in Odisha on January 10, 2022.

State director of health and family welfare Bijay Panigrahi had informed that more than 17.52 lakh people of the state are eligible to get the precautionary dose.
