Angul: In a tragic incident, a woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Talagarh village of Odisha’s Angul district.
While speaking about the incident, sources said that the deceased woman, who has been identified as Mamata Sethi of Talagarh village, had gone to collect mangoes. In the meantime, she came across a wild pachyderm that trampled her all of a sudden.
Some locals who also had gone to collect mangoes noticed the incident and tried to disperse the big animal and rescue Mamata. However, the elephant attack was so severe that Mamata died on the spot.
Later a team of the local police and forest officials rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
