Elephant Tramples, Kills Man In Dhenkanal Of Odisha

Dhenkanal: An elderly man was killed after an elephant trampled him in Dhenkanal district of Odisha on the wee hours of Sunday.

The incident has been reported from Gopalpur village in Gandia block in the Kapilas forest range of Dhenkanal.

The deceased has been identified as Fakir Nayak, a resident of Gopalpur village.

According to reports, Nayak was going to attend nature’s call when the elephant attacked him. He died on the spot.

On being informed police and forest officials arrived at the spot and recovered the body and sent for post-mortem.

The local villagers were in a state of panic after this unfortunate incident, the forest officials tried to pacify them.
