Elephant Hit By Train In Odisha, Sustains Critical Injuries

Ghatagaon: An elephant sustained grievous injuries after being hit by a train near Sagadapada in Keonjhar district of Odisha late last night.

According to reports, the elephant was crossing the railway tracks near Sagadapada station in Keonjhar district when it was hit by a goods train.

The impact was so strong that the elephant was thrown away from the tracks. The railway personnel and a few locals rushed to the spot to help hearing the sound.

The elephant was severely injured due to the collision.

A district veterinary team immediately rushed to the spot and decided to shift the pachyderm to the hospital for further treatment.
