Elephant Carcass Found in Odisha’s Athagarh

Athagarh: The carcass of an elephant was found dead near Ghumaghasua hills of Rajballavpur reserve forest under the Khuntuni range here last night.

The locals spotted the tusker and informed the police. The police reached the spot and seized the carcass.

It is supected that the 55-year old elephant might have died due to old age issue or any other disease, informs Athagarh DFO Sasmita Lenka.

The elephant’s cause of death would be ascertained after post-mortem. A probe has been ordered.
