Elephant carcass found in Kalahandi

Kalahandi: In a tragic incident, the carcass of an elephant has been recovered near the Bagpur village under Narla range of Kalahandi district.

According to reports, locals of the area spotted the carcass of an elephant and informed the forest officials.

On getting the information, the forest officials rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the jumbo. The elephant had bruises and cuts over his body.

It is being suspected that the jumbo has died during a fight another elephant. However, the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

Further investigation in this regard is underway by the forest official.

Notably, the forest officials had recovered the carcass of a female elephant on February 9 at Jampadar under Narla forest range in Kalahandi. She had come in contact with a live wire and succumbed at the spot.
