Elephant Attack: 2 Killed, 1 Injured In Separate Incidents

Dhenkanal/Angul: Two persons were killed and one injured after being attacked by wild elephants in Angul and Dhenkanal on Saturday.

As per reports, an 80-year-old man identified as Kedarnath Prasad of Deulbera was trampled to death by an elephant at Sharma Chowk in Talcher of Angul district.

Similarly, another elderly identified as Dayanidhi Sahu was trampled to death by an elephant at Gudia Kateni in Dhenkanal. He was attacked by the tusker while on his way to the village pond with another person, who has also sustained injuries.

Following the incident, locals have staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. They also urged forest officials to take immediate steps regarding Elephant menace in the area.
