Angul: An elderly woman received a bullet injuries during firing practice of CISF personnel at Saradhapur ground here in Odisha on Wednesday morning.
The injured woman has been identified as Badani Mishra, a resident of Saradhapur village.
The 79-year old woman was reportedly seated in front of her house this morning when a bullet hit her chest. The bullet first hit the wall of her house and then bounced towards her and hit her, police said.
The old lady was immediately rushed to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital. Her condition was reportedly critical, hospital sources said.
A case has been registered at Angul police station in this connection and probe has begun to find out under what circumstance the bullet hit the elderly woman, said police.
