Cuttack: An elderly woman was killed after coming in contact with a snapped electric transmission wire in Kalara Anta village under Banki police limits in Cuttack on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Ashanti Sahu of the same village.
As per the report, Ashanti who had taken her cattle for grazing to a pasture in the village accidentally touched a high voltage transmission wire which had snapped to fall on the ground and suffered an electric shock.
Though family members rushed the victim to Banki Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment immediately, she died under treatment there.
Police have lodged a case of unnatural death in connection with the mishap.
