Kendrapara: Setting an example for others, an 85-year-old woman donated yes before her death in the district on Tuesday.
According to reports, one Basanti Parida of Tanar village is located in Nikirai Tehsil, was undergoing treatment in the hospital due to some ailment. However, she expressed her willingness to donate eyes before her death.
In a bit to fulfil her wish, Basanti’s family members called the eye specialists who collected her eyes before her death at 6.5 am yesterday.
While a pall of gloom descended on the area following Basanti’s death, her noble deed has now become the talk of the town in the entire district.
Basanti was also known as a selfless social worker and good human being in her locality.
