Puri: An elderly man was killed in Balihunka village under Delang block in the district after he was bitten by a venomous snake on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Raghab Martha.
Raghab was busy in threshing paddy in a field near his home this morning when the mishap took place. He turned critical after being bitten by a cobra while busy in work.
Family member rushed the victim to Delang Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police have seized the body and registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.
