Eight cow-laden vehicles seized, two arrested in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: As many as eight cow-laden vehicles were seized by Odisha’s Nayagarh district police from Kantilo area and rescued 88 cows on Wednesday night. Besides, police arrested two persons for their involvement in the case.

According to reports, some cow traders from Nayagarh and Khurda area were illegally transporting cows to West Bengal in eight vehicles including seven trucks and one pick-up van.

On being informed about the cow smuggling from some reliable sources, a team of police including staff of Khandapada police station and Kantilo police outposts conducted a raid late at night and seized the vehicles.

Interrogation of the arrested persons by the police is underway to get more lead in the case, informed sources.
