Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday issued notification for by-polls to three Rajya Sabha seats of Odisha.
Noteworthy, the three Rajya Sabha seats were held by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Pratap Keshari Deb, and Soumya Ranjan Patnaik. While Dr. Samanta was elected from Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat, Deb and Patnaik won from Aul and Khandapada Assembly Constituencies in the recently held elections.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta and Soumya Ranjan Patnaik’s term in the Rajya Sabha was to end in April 2024 whereas the term of Pratap Keshari Deb in the Upper House was till July 2022.
