Duration Of Math, English, And Science Classes Extended To 90 Mins In Odisha Schools

Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to increase the duration of classes in three subjects – Mathematics, English and Science in schools from 45 minutes to 90 minutes.

This was informed by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today at the state secretariat.

“The decision to extend the duration of classes in the three subjects has been taken to improve the standard of the students in those subjects. With the extension of classes students will have sufficient time to clear their doubts,’ said Dash.

Dash said that the new initiative will be implemented in one school in each district on a pilot basis. “We have directed the concerned officials to implement it during this academic session. We are also planning it to extend it to schools in block level,” added the minister.
