Sambalpur: A drunk warder has beaten up a jailor and two other employees of the circular jail in Sambalpur district of Odisha on Sunday.
The warder identified as Ashok Thati was in an inebriate state and attacked the jailor identified as Alok Kar and two other workers of the jail. He punched them in their face as a result they were severely injured.
The warder was later overpowered by the jailor and other staff members and they were handed over to the Dhanupali Police immediately.
The police immediately took the drunk warder to custody and have registered a case against him. There are almost 800 inmates in the Sambalpur jail.
The matter is being enquired into. The security arrangements of the jail are been re considered.
