Jajpur: In a success to police, they arrested a dacoit involved in robbing a local business man at gunpoint in Balichandrapur area a few days back and seized arms and ammunitions from his possession.
The held dacoit has been identified as Santosh Mallick, a resident of the same locality.
Acting upon a tip-off Balichandrapur Police launched a raid on the hideout of Mallick this morning and took him into custody.
Two pistols, a gold necklace, one Bhujali (a sharp weapon), a billhook and two mobile phones were seized from the possession of the held dacoit during the raid.
Mallick was involved in a number of robbery incidents under different police stations in the district, said police.
