Kendrapara: By continuing its crackdown on history sheeters in the district Kendrapara Police on Sunday nabbed dreaded criminal Santosh Mallick following an encounter in which he also sustained bullet injury.
As per the report, after getting a tip-off Santosh’s presence in Golarahat area in the district in the wee hours today a joint team of Kendrapara Police’s special squad and Derabish Police conducted a raid. As the cops tried to intercept Santosh at Chasakhand area while riding a Yamaha FZR bike to his home in Dobandh village, he opened fire at police.
As the police team retaliated, the criminal sustained bullet injury on his lower right leg and fell off the bike. He was rushed to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) immediately.
Police seized the bike, one pistol and a number of live bullets from the possession of the held criminal.
Police said, the nabbed criminal has over 80 cases pending against him under different police stations in the state.
