DRDO Conducts Successful Flight Test Of ‘Abhyas’ In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday successfully conducted the flight test of ‘Abhyas’, a high-speed expendable aerial target (HEAT).

The trial, conducted at the Interim Test Range at Chandipur in Balasore district of Odisha, was tracked by various radars and electro-optic systems.

The configuration of ‘Abhyas’ is designed on an in-line small gas turbine engine and it uses indigenously developed micro-electro-mechanical systems-based system for navigation and guidance.

‘Abhyas’ is designed for autonomous flying with the help of an autopilot.
