Dr Iti Samanta to be awarded with ‘Oupanyasika Kaliprasad Das Upanyas Samman’

Bhubaneswar: Annual 19th Rajdhani Book Fair has reached its last day on Monday. The committee has announced this year’s awards.  Dr. Iti Samanta, the chairperson of Kadambini Media and editor of monthly magazine Kadambini, is set to receive ‘Oupanyasika Kaliprasad Das Upanyas Samman’ award.

The committee headed by Dr Upendra Kumar made the announcement. Other prominent members of the committee were Secretary Bidhubhusan Pattanaik, Convener Ramesh Chandra Swain, Co-ordinator Kaliprasad Das, Birkishore Pradhan, Akulachandra Nath, and Kamalini Mallik.

The committee had announced on Thursday that ‘Kaliprasad Das Samman’ would be given every year to one renowned literary person. And, this year the award is to be received by famous writer Dr Iti Samanta for her book Sakuntalara Jhia. The book has received some great reviews.

Along with Dr. Iti Samanta, some other literary persons will also be awarded at the closing ceremony of 19th Rajdhani Book Fair. Dr. Nrusingh Sarangi will be awarded for his essay collection Bhaba binimaya o Jogajogara Bhasa Madhyam, Novelist Ajay Patra for Maharaja, Debashish Panigrahi for his short story collection Raseshwari, Poets Sushanta Kumar Nayak and Akshay Behera for Sesha Drushya and Dina pare Dina respectively.

Translation work Sikhiba Gurunka Jibani-Suraj Prakash by Sadhana Patri, Science book Samaya o Biswara Rahasya by Rabi Mahapatra, Travel diary Urmi Adhira Rupasi Chilika by Diptiranjan Martha, Children’s Literature Kuna Pain Kuni Pain by Nilamani Chanda, Religious book Shrestha Khetra Srikhetra by BijayaLaxmi Sahoo, Biography Turning Point by Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo and Dr Arabinda Ray, Poetry book Tume Ki Bujhiba Priye by Niranjan Sethi will be awarded with ‘Kabi Sudhansu Mohan Routray’ award.

‘Aama Odisha’ Bhubaneswar will be felicitated for special contribution in publication at the closing ceremony of Annual 19th Rajdhani Book Fair today.
