Bhubaneswar: Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta congratulated the organising committee for successfully hosting the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships from July 5 to 9 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
In a Facebook post, Dr Samanta hailed the efforts of the students and the sports staff of KIIT and KISS, who volunteered for the sporting extravaganza.
“Congratulations Odisha for creating a milestone by successfully hosting a landmark mega event. Thanks to Team Odisha for making it a huge success, micromanaging it most meticulously,” the Facebook post read.
While congratulating the athletes who qualified for the World Championships in London, he also praised the Indian contingent for being numero uno in the medal tally.
The Asian sporting event was organised in a record 90-day time. Around 300 students from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences had participated in the opening and closing ceremony of the event.
