Educationist, Social worker, Kandhamal MP Dr. Achyuta Samanta has been nominated to become a member of the Indian Olympic Advisory Group.
The Advisory group will decide the award and encouragement amounts given to the Sports Federations and sports persons.
On Thursday a virtual meeting of the Olympic Advisory Group was held. In this virtual meeting the 21 members advisory group along with Indian Olympic Association secretary general Rajeev Mehta discussed about the monetary amount to be given to certain sports persons. Besides, pocket advance, encouragement amount for the medal winners were also discussed in the meeting.
During this meeting Dr. Samanta said that sports organisations, sports persons and coaches should be encouraged. He also conveyed his gratitude to Sri Mehta for nominating him as a member of the Advisory group.
Dr. Samanta also thanked Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for announcing monetary award for Dutee Chand and other Olympians.
