Doctor Turns Good Samaritan, Transports Unconscious Youth In Car In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A doctor turned ‘messiah’ for a youth who was lying unconscious near Fire Station Square in the state capital today.

The doctor Sarada Prasad Mohanty, an assistant surgeon in the cardiac wing of SCB Medical College in Cuttack not only rushed the youth to the Capital Hospital in his car but also ensured his treatment at the hospital.

Mohanty who was on his way to his workplace found the youth Ranjan Nayak lying unconscious near the road. “A number of people were present on the spot but no one bothered to take him to the hospital. I called the 108 ambulance service but the ambulance failed to turn up at the spot. By that time his heart rate started dropping. So I decided to rush him to the Capital Hospital. One police personnel also helped me to take him to the casualty on a stretcher,” said Mohanty.

The youth is currently undergoing at the Capital Hospital.
