Berhampur: The Bhanjanagar Police raided and sealed the G Rambha Sub Post Office on Sunday after a group of depositors claimed that the Postmaster defrauded them with Rs 10 lakh and fled.
The raid conducted in the presence of a local magistrate.
After verification of the passbooks of some depositors at the nearby Muchagarh Post Office, police found that no sum has been updated for a long time.
Bhanjanagar SDPO Utkal Keshari Dash said that the Post Master of G Rambha Sub Post Office is absconding for the last 10 days.
“Though no formal complaint has been registered in this connection, police is investigating into the matter”, he added.
