Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmedra Pradhan on Thursday opined that disability is a mere perception and they are people with different abilities.
Pradhan while addressing during the valedictory ceremony of the Shashakt campaign, said, “The human spirit is one of ability, will and courage that no disability can steal away. Disability is a mere perception there are only people with different abilities. If we have to achieve a better society we must weave one in which each diverse human being finds a fitting place.”
Pradhan also recognised the efforts of some of the determined campaigners who challenged their disabilities and travelled more than 4000 kms to spread awareness about Shashakt India and promote equal opportunities and acceptance for the differently-abled.
The Shashakt campaign was organised by Odisha State Disability Network at Railway Auditorium here.
The Shashakt campaign is a campaign for the empowerment and inclusion of people who are challenged and make the world aware about their abilities.
Pradhan also felicitate some of the outstanding differently-abled persons.
