Dhenkanal: Launching a crackdown on corrupt officials in the district, Vigilance sleuths today raided office and houses of Dhenkanal Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Dibakar Singh on the charge of amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income.
A team of Dhenkanal Vigilance unit conducted simultaneous raids at five places including, Singh’s office in Dhenkanal town along with his rented house at Kunjakanta area, residences at Mayurbhanj’s Jharapokharia, Bhubaneswar and Balasore.
During the raid, the anti-corruption wing officials checked various important documents including land records possessed by Singh and seized those.
The exact amount of DA seized from the possession of the accused RTO is yet to be assessed as the raid is underway.
A few days back, another Dhenkanal RTO Basant Behera was also caught in a similar case and put on suspension from his post.
