Dhenkanal: Odisha police arrested the accused involved in rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl in Dhenkanal district.
The arrested accused identified as Shankar Dehuri of Kaliapani village in Jajpur district.
He is a relative of the minor deceased girl.
A case has been registered under the Sec 363, 377 D, B, 302 IPC and Posco Act and the accused will be court-forwarded today, informs Kamkhyanagar SDPO Suprassana Mallik during a press meet.
On November 13, the body of the minor was recovered from a forest by the locals at Kharkhari village under Kankadahad police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The family members alleged that she was raped and later stoned to death by some miscreants.
