Dharmendra attends World Petroleum Congress

Dharmendra PradhanIstanbul: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, represented India at the opening ceremony of the 22nd World Petroleum Congress (WPC) International Conference, which began here today. The three-day long conference will end on July 12.

Pradhan met the US Secretary of State and Energy Ministers of countries from around the world on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the conference.

The Union Minister will chair a ministerial session on the subject ‘Current Economic Strategies in Indian Oil and Gas Sector’ and a plenary session on ‘Supply and Demand Challenges for Oil, Gas and Products’, a release by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated.

Pradhan will also launch an event on Hydrocarbon Exploration and Licensing Policy (HELP) as part of promoting upcoming oil and gas bidding rounds in India, it said.

The WPC Conference attracts ministers, chief executive officers of oil and gas multinational corporations, experts and academics from the hydrocarbon sectors.
