DGP R.P Sharma reviews security in undivided Koraput district

Rayagada: Odisha DGP R.P Sharma on Wednesday reviewed anti-Maoist operations in the undivided Koraput district.

Sharma reviewed the security arrangement in Ragayada district police office.

ADG (Operation) R.P. Koche, IG (Intelligence) R.K Sharma, SIW IG Ghanshyam Upadhyay, South Western Range DIG S Shyni, Rayagada Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul PR and SPs of the undivided Koraput districts attended the meeting.

The top cop of the state convened the meeting after getting input on the hideout of Maoists in Niyamagiri hills.

It is believed that the red rebels are hiding in the Niyamagiri hills after the landmine explosion near Sakata village under Muniguda police limits of the district on April 9. An Odia jawan of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) identified as Sanjay Majhi of Ambadola village was martyred in the landmine explosion.
