DGCA issues licence for Rourkela airport

Bhbaneswar: The people of Rourkela, the Steel city of Odisha, will now fly from their home city as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Monday issued licence for Rourkela airport in the state.

This will be the third operational airport in the State after the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar and Veer Surendra Sai Airport at Jharsuguda.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation took Twitter to announce the development.

 In May 2018, The Airport Authority of India (AAI) had signed an MoU with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) for operation and management of the airstrip.
