Devotees throng Alarnath as holy trinity fall sick after Snana Purnima

Puri: Devotees have started to make a beeline for the famous Alarnath temple on Tuesday after the deities at Puri Jagannath Temple – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, fell sick and got into the ‘Anasara Ghara’ after the Snana Jatra that was held yesterday on the auspicious occasion of Deva Snana Purnima.

The holy trinity was given a ceremonial bath yesterday following which the siblings fell sick and are under the care of the Raja Vaidya, as per the traditions and rituals. They are placed in ‘Anasara Ghara’ and the Anasara Sudu Suar and Sudasuar servitors perform the secret rituals or nitis and ‘Pati Dians’ are worshipped in the Srimandir during this period.

Devotees, who wish to have a darshan of the deities, will have to head towards Alarnath Temple in Brahmagiri.

As per the belief, Lord Jagannath manifests in the form of Lord Alarnath for 15 days during Anasara of deities post Deva Snana Purnima and His darshan brings same fortune and well being.

Adequate arrangements have been made at Alarnath to ensure smooth darshan of the deities during the 15-day period. Heavy police deployment has also been made at the temple for the purpose.
