Depression to trigger heavy rainfall across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Depression over the Bay of Bengal is set to cause heavy rainfall across Odisha till July 2. Collectors across all districts have been put on high alert.

SRC has sent an alert directive to Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabrangapur, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri and Balasore districts. The district collectors have also been asked to keep an eye on a possible flood situation.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted for Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabrangpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Jajpur, and Sundargarh.

Rainfall has also been predicted at one or two places in other nearby districts too.
