Bhubaneswar: At least two deer were rescued by the joint effort of the locals and Forest Department officials on Tuesday in the capital city of Odisha. The two were stuck in the drain water near Xavier square.
As per reports, today morning the locals witnessed two deer have fallen into the drain near the Santal Basti on the new road in between Xavier square and Utkal Hospital. The animals were trying to save themselves but in vain.
The locals immediately went into action and tried to rescue the two deer. Meanwhile the Forest Department officials and Police were alerted about it.
Within some time the Forest Department officials reached the spot and the deer were rescued after long 2 hours of tough operation jointly made by the locals and Forest officials. The Forest officials then took the two deer with them for health check-up. They informed that once the two animals will recover they will be released into a lonely place in the jungle.
