Paralakhemundi: The death toll in the Baraghara landslide incident which took place in Gangabada panchayat of Raygad block of Gajapati district rose to 15 after recovery of two more bodies from the spot on Sunday.
As per the information, while the autopsy of all 13 bodies recovered earlier has been completed, the same will be completed of the rest two after medical examination.
Similarly, SRC Odisha Bishnupada Sethi today informed that an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh will be given to the families of each deceased of Baraghara landslide.
However, the SRC also claimed that at least 68 families out of a total of 75 residing in the village had been evacuated to safe places before cyclone Titli’s landfall. The rest seven chose to stay in the village and fell victim to the landslide later, he added.
