Puri: The famous Jagannath Temple (Srimandir) of Puri shall remain closed for darshan today. This step has been taken for sanitization of the temple premises.
The temple had been opened for the darshan of devotees after a long gap of 9 months due to the Covid pandemic.
“Devotees will not be required to submit Covid negative report to enter Srimandir from January 21. They can have darshan of the deities from 7 am and 30,000 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple every day. A separate queue will be made for senior citizens,” said the SJTA Chief. This notification was passed on January 21.
All the Covid SOPs are however being strictly followed in the temple.
