Bhubaneswar: Paradip MLA and former minister Damodar Rout announced the formation of a new party and named it as ‘Biju Samata Kranti Dal’.

Damodar announced the party’s name at a press meet in the presence of former MP and founder of Samata Kranti Dal, Braja Kishore Tripathy and Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) chief Jagneswar Babu.

Speaking about the ideology of his party, Rout said, “While the ruling party has become corrupt, the Biju Samata Kranti Dal will preserve and promote the ideologies and principles of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.”

The party will spread wings in all 30 districts of the state.

Notably, the state ruling BJD President and Chief Minter Naveen Patnaik had expelled the veteran politician from the party on September 12 for his alleged ‘anti-party’ activities.
