Subarnapur: Hundreds of Dalits took to streets and staged a road blockade today at Bishalpali Square on Binika-Dunguaripali road in the district alleging police inaction in a case of attack against a member of the community few months ago.
Demanding immediate action against the persons who attacked one Sadhu Charan Nag’s house during an anti-liquor campaign held by the locals in Babupali village under Binika Police Station area in September this year, the blockaders alleged nexus between police and the accused in the incident and demanded an inquiry in the matter.
Notably, Nag who happens to be a member of the Dalit community lodged a complaint at Binika Police Station in the incident in September. As per the complaint he mentioned that the attackers looted gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs along with other valuable items from his home during the rally, branding him as liquor trader.
