Keonjhar: A youth was drowned to death after falling into an abandoned well in Kochilapada village under Patana block in Keonjhar district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Kathia Munda, a resident of Denua village.
Kathia, a daily wager by profession had been to Kochilapada village last afternoon for agricultural work and had been engaged in carrying straw is suspected to have slipped into the well due to carelessness. His body was seen floating in the well this morning.
Fire services officials rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy after fishing it out from the water.
Turumunga Police have lodged a case of unnatural death in connection with the case and started an investigation.
