Paradip: Four dacoits have been arrested by Paradip Model Town Police while they were planning to break into a house for burglary on late Monday night.
According to ASP Bishnu Charan Mishra, the police patrolling team received a tip-off that some anti-social elements have been loitering near the Municipality Dumping Yard at Bhimabhoi colony. While the Police team managed to nab four of them, two others managed to escape.
The arrested dacoits have been identified as Chittaranjan Sahoo (47), Pyarimohan Das (36), Kachi Maity (35) and Deepak Behera (30). The notorious criminals have many dacoity cases pending against them at various police stations.
The Police has also seized a pistol, ammunition and sharp weapons from them. All the arrestees have been sent to Kujang jail in Kendrapara district. They will be soon forwarded to court.
