Dabangiri of Haryana Police, manhandle and threaten journalists at gunpoint in Odisha

Balasore: A team of Haryana Police reportedly manhandled and allegedly threatened a group of journalists at gunpoint in Odisha’s Balasore district today.

According to reports, a team of Haryana police from Gurgaon reached the Khantapada Police station to investigate a case. In the process, they allegedly picked up a local youth for questioning.

In the meantime, the villagers protested the Haryana police action saying that they are detaining an innocent youth while the accused is on the run. However, the cops forcefully took the youth to Khantapada Police station for interrogation.

Later, some local people went to the police station and demanded immediate release of the youth saying he was not involved in the particular case. However, the Haryana Police team did not pay them any attention and forcefully tried to disperse them.

The Haryana cops also reportedly pushed, shoved and threatened the journalists at gunpoint while they were covering the news. They also allegedly snatched the mobile phone of one of the scribes when he tried to capture the video of the incident.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed at the Khantapada Police station against the Haryana cops by the journalists, who also sat on a dharna demanding action against the police team.
