Dabang inspector NabarangpurNabarangpur: In yet another incident of police high-handedness, a police official allegedly destroyed maize crops of a local under his vehicle’s wheel on Friday. The incident came to light after the victim recorded the whole incident on his mobile and sent it to Kalinga TV.

Reports say the shameful incident occurred in Jatiguda village on Friday after a verbal spat erupted between the victim Krupa Bisoyi and the Dabugaon Police Station IIC Subhash Rajguru over a piece of land in which the former has planted maze. Going by the allegation of Bisoyi, the IIC claimed that the piece of land where he had planted maize was a disputed one so that he could carve out a road to his father-in-law’s farm land located adjacent to it. When he protested, the IIC started his official vehicle and drove through the maize plantation destroying the crops completely, added Bisoyi.

Pintu Bisoyi, a relative of Krupa Bisoyi and an eyewitness in the case, told Kalinga TV over phone that the piece of land in which maize was planted happened to be the ancestral property of the complainant. It is being cultivated by him since 1942 and hence the allegation of disputed land is baseless and made with evil intentions.

On the other hand, the accused IIC Rajguru failed to give a satisfactory answer to Kalinga TV when queried about the incident over phone and kept repeating that the allegation was false. He also dubbed the eyewitness Pintu Bisoyi as a land mafia.
