Phulbani: In a crackdown on corrupt officials, Vigilance officials raided the office and houses of Phulbani Municipality Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Radhamohan Behera today on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
Acting upon a case registered against Behera, separate teams of the anti-corruption bureau conducted simultaneous raids at five places in the morning. Behera’s office and government quarters at Phulabani, house at Berhampur, in-laws’ house at Turugudi along with another property were searched during the raid.
Unaccounted cash worth Rs 16,900 along, gold jewelleries and crucial documents establishing disproportionate asset allegation were recovered and seized from Behera’s government quarters.
The raid is currently underway and the Vigilance officials would disclose the total amount of disproportionate asset seized from the accused official’s house once it gets completed.
