Balasore: Tightening the noose around the necks of corrupt officials in the district, Vigilance sleuths today raided office and houses of an Assistant Statistical Officer on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income.
The accused official is Parameswar Rout.
Separate teams of anti-graft officials led by Vigilance SP Sunil Kumr Senapati carried out simultaneous raids at Rout’s Parameswar Nagar residence under Angaragadia area, another house at Tamulia, office in Balasore. Later, his home at Basudevpur of Bhadrak was also searched.
During the search the officials found several important documents along with bank passbooks owned by the accused officer.
The verification of several other document s are underway and final report is awaited.
