Baripada: Tightening the noose around the necks of corrupt officials, Vigilance officials on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on office and houses of an Assistant Engineer in Mayurbhanj district in Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.
The accused official has been identified as Nilakantha Padhi, Assistant Engineer, Micro Irrigation Department.
Following a complaint against Padhi, a team of anti-corruption wing officials began the simultaneous raids at six places including Udala and State Capital Bhubaneswar in the morning.
During the raid several important documents including land records and bank passbooks were checked by the officials.
While the raid is still underway, the exact amount of disproportionate asset would be declared by the Vigilance sleuths after its completion.
