Cyclone Titli: Odisha CM announces 15-day relief for flood hit areas
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced fifteen days relief for flood-affected people of three districts in the State. The flood situation was caused by the incessant rain due to the cyclonic storm Titli.
“All affected families of Ganjam, Gajpati and Gunpur Sub-Division of Rayagada district will be given relief for 15 days. On an average a family of four members will be assisted with more than Rs 3000 as relief,” Patnaik said adding that the relief amount would be Rs 60 each for adults and Rs 45 for children per day.
The announcement came after the Chief Minister chaired a high-level meeting along with Chief Secretary AP Padhi, SRC Bishnupada Sethi and other senior officials here at the State secretariat this evening.
The Chief Minister also said, the connectivity will be restored in all cut off areas with in next 48 hours and electricity supply to 90 per cent of affected areas will be ensured in next 48 hours and remaining ten per cent areas in 3 to 5 days.
Earlier on the day, Patnaik conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts.
