Cyclone JAWAD likely to weaken by the time it reaches Puri

Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Jawad is likely to weaken gradually and reach near Puri around 5th December noon as a Deep Depression, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.

Cyclone Jawad to weaken further and north-northeastwards along Odisha coast towards West Bengal coast, said IMD.

According to latest bulletin, The Cyclonic Storm Jawad over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved slightly northwards with a speed of 04 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centered at 0530 hrs IST of today, about 230 km southeast of Vishakhapatnam, 410 km south-southwest of Puri and 490 km south-southwest of Paradip (Odisha).
