Cyclone Fani: Only 1 Small Flag To Be Tied On Nilachakra At Puri Srimandir

Puri: In view of the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani which is moving towards the Odisha coast, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri informed that only one short flag will be tied to the Nilachakra on top of the shrine.

The SJTA has issued a notification stating that only one short flag will be tied to the Nilachakra from May 1-5 to avoid any interruption in carrying out the rituals at the Srimandir.

Moreover, the Srimandir supervisor has been instructed not to issue any receipt for tying of the flag on the aforementioned days.

Noteworthy, the IMD has forecasted that Cyclonic Storm Fani is likely to cross Odisha coast near Satapada in Puri district in the afternoon of May 3 with maximum sustained wind speed of 175-185 kmph gusting to 205 kmph.

Post-landfall, the cyclone is likely to pass through Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore districts.
