Cyclone Fani: Odisha Govt Appoints Senior IAS Officers For Relief Operations

Bhubaneswar: In view of the Cyclonic storm Fani which is being expected to make landfall at the Odisha coast, the State Government on Wednesday appointed senior IAS officers in charge of relief and restoration operations.

Senior IAS officer Suresh Mahapatra will supervise the relief and restoration measures in Puri district whereas IAS Pradipta Mohapatra and Saswat Mishra will monitor relief activities in Jagatsinghpur district.

IAS Pradeep Jena has been assigned the relief and restoration charge of Kendrapara district whereas Anil Samal and Balwant Singh will supervise relief operations in Jajpur and Balasore districts respectively.

IAS Krishan Kumar will look after relief and restoration in Khordha district, Hemant Kumar Padhi will look after Kendrapada district and Sanjeev Chopra and Sangramjit Nayak has been entrusted Cuttack district.

IAS Mohammed Abdul Akhtar and Premchand Choudhury will jointly supervise operations in Balasore district whereas Surendra Pal Thakur will oversee operations in Bhadrak district.

Furthermore, Manisha Banerjee has been posted at the office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).

The State Government has also cancelled the leaves of doctors and health staff till May 15 and those on leave have been directed to return to respective district headquarters by evening today.
