Rairangpur: A cyclist was killed after being run over by a truck at Asanbali Chhak under Rairangpur police limits in Mayurbhanj district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sana Behera, a resident of Ichinda village under the same police station area.
Sana, who lived in Behera Sahi of the village, had been to a ‘weekly hat’ late in the evening and returning home when the mishap occurred.
The driver of a speeding truck bearing registration number-OR 11E 0919 lost control over the wheels and ended up mowing down the victim from the rear. He died on the spot.
Getting intimation, Rairangpur Town Police rushed to the spot later in the night and detained the driver of the truck after sending the deceased for autopsy.
